The Cherry Red 3xCD ‘C86’, Pseudonym’s 2xCD ‘I Don’t Care Collection (Dutch Punk 1977-1983),’ and Medical’s reissue of the incredible The Summer Hits ‎’Beaches And Canyons’ LP make up a good portion of the show, but room is left for the post-Slade Jim Lea band The Dummies and a soaring start by Danny Whitten fronted pre-Crazy Horse band The Rockets.

C86, The Summer Hits, Dutch Punk – 3 part feature starts after 7th song

Just listen to the Evie Sands track if its Friday night and you want to get hyped up. When you get home and are looking to relax, do the Robyn Hitchcock & Emma Swift track. Following that track with the cover of ‘Bali Ha’i’ might make you want to never go out again though! Lots of good tracks here, some jazzy, some pub, some new wave, some electronic.

A proto-alphabetical show foreshadowing a trope Gulls Window Circus will follow in many future shows – playing bands alphabetically. Here we cover the letters A-C, sticking to 80s underground rock. All vinyl – casts a wide net to a specific era. The Console track is 1998, Cornershop 1995, Charles Brown Superstar 1994, Crazy Horse 1971 – they slipped in. Steve Kilbey and Marty Willson-Piper get grouped into The Churches ‘C’ – hope you’re OK with that.

The underground side of classic rock is explored as we find very awesome Grand Funk Railroad, Blue Oyster Cult, Uriah Heep, Foghat, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Hot Tuna, and Black Oak Arkansas tracks, then mix in some fairly unknown 70s tracks, with some newer tracks that fit the scheme well. Special attention to the two of wine songs: James Luther Dickinson, Michael Chapman, and Green On Red.

A rock show disguised as an electronic show. Well, there ARE some easily ID’d ‘electronic’ tracks, but there are also some rock tracks done by unlikely folks, such as Sweden’s Albion and Munich’s Leroy. Ian Dury’s son Baxter Dury has a nice track – in fact, many nice tracks in this show.

All vinyl rock show with some fave artists of mine, evident straight from the start with The Only Ones, and at the very end with La Peste (both absolute favorites of mine). Scottish band The Flowers only released two 7″, but we hear a non-7″ track from a Fast Product comp. The Do It Now! Track is a must hear, and the Further track is one of their best.
