The second week in a row (and third in total) of Jazz shows on Gulls Window Circus. Quincy James, Wes Montgomery, Bob James, Pat Metheny, Don Cherry and Herbie Hancock would be the big names in the show. Artists from the past that may be big names to those familiar with them are Mundell Lowe, Charles Lloyd, Rudolph Johnson, Bobbi Humphrey, Lee Konitz, Kellee Patterson, Doug Carn, Gene Russell, Chester Thompson, Ahmad Jamal, and George Russell. Surprise (but fitting in well) appearances are by Chrissie Hyde and Deborah Harry.

Landmark 600th show – jazz LP tracks. A sneaky mix of old and new, with the big names from the past [Miles Davis, Vince Guaraldi Trio, Art Blakeys Jazz Messengers, Albert Ayler], lesser-known masters from the past [The Southern University Jazz Ensemble, Duke Edwards & The Young Ones, Jazz Sabbath, “Prince Igor” Yahilevich, Doug Carn, Rudolph Johnson, Dorothy Ashby And Frank Wess], and new artists planting mines in the time-tested waters of the masters [Theo Parrish, Madlib, Nala Sinephro, Ill Considered]. Show 601 will be a jazz show as well, so dip in and test the waters!

The first ever jazz show on Gulls Window Circus – I have planned a jazz show for some time, but never programmed one. There will be more – not a series – but more spread through time. This premier features many of the biggest names [Art Blakey, John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Freddie Hubbard], plus artists you may not have heard [Stanley Turrentine, Shirley Scott, The Southern University Jazz Ensemble, The Tony Williams Lifetime, Wendell Harrison & Phil Ranelin] and offers a current Polish jazz artist [Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet] as well. Hey, ho, let’s go!
