The first hour of this (as usual!) all-vinyl show covers 12″ singles that flirt with various soul/funk/tropical/disco/balearic/dirty ambient sounds, then the second hour starts with three tracks in the ancient future genre, then surrenders to deep house and runs with it for the remainder of the show.

Electronic, disco, soul/funk Record Store Day releases from 2020 Drops 1 and 2 in the first hour, quality 12″ singles in the second hour. Special attention to the Long Island NY band Cross Island, and the brand new 2020 A Certain Ratio record. The Bobby Moore track (Call Me Your) Anything Man has been running through my head all week. The second hour closes with tracks from two Ace 45th Anniversary 7”s. All tracks are aces in this show, no matter what label they are on.

This show covers the second RSD drop from September 26. It also includes some Drop 1 items that didn’t come into my attention until recently. I draw your attention to the three Sunbeam Records RSD releases featured herein. Raw Material, Wizz Jones and The Fallen Angels LPs will make me follow this label closely from now on. Also, the expanded Gang War LP has lots of tracks that were not on the original, and reminds me how great Johnny Thunders was. The final Television Personalities singles compilation was a very pleasant surprise as well.

This year’s Record Store Day was broken into 3 drops. This is part 2 of a show that covers the first drop from August 29. You will hear the same RSD records in the same order, but different tracks than last week. I think this gives two shades of view and really opens up a better appreciation of the releases that came out. I hope you enjoy as I did.
